ONEONTA, NY - The Alfred University men's tennis team opened their 2024-25 season with a 7-0 loss to Oneonta on Saturday.
"With this being our only fall match, we made the most of it," Head Coach
Jake Fisler said. "I saw a lot of good fight out there and they supported one another from start to finish. I am proud of the team because they were a team. Not the result we want, but good experience under our belt."
The Saxons competed well from doubles action, with
Ricardo Alvarez Janik (La Orotava, Spain/Colegio de la Cruz) joining
Breece Erickson (Goshen, IN/Bethany Christian) at the top of the lineup.
Walker Waldon (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) played well from No. 6 singles, but Alfred University was unable to come away with a win.
Alfred University will next regroup and appear in the spring season.
