ALFRED, NY – After helping the Saxons pick up a strong road win during Week Two,
TJ Marsh (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) was named one of the recipients of the Empire 8 Football Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday in an official announcement by Associate Commissioner,
Joe Venniro.
Marsh was an absolute menace on defense as the Saxons picked up the 34-0 shutout win at Juniata. He totaled six tackles with five of them being solo stops. Out of those, 2.5 of them were for a loss of 15 yards with 12 of those yards coming from his solo sack. Marsh also had the game's lone interception as he picked off the Juniata QB and returned the pick for 26 yards.
Marsh was joined on Monday by
Alina Zabihailo (Kyiv, Ukraine/Educational Complex #143) as the Women's Tennis Player of the Week,
Juan Jose Menendez Gutierrez (Villanueva Cañada, Madrid, Spain/Woodstock Academy) as the Men's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week and
Taylor Malone (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) as the Women's Volleyball Co-Player of the Week on Monday. He and Malone were also the Saxons of the Week.
