ALFRED, NY - Tyler Curran (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) was recognized as the Empire 8 Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week, as announced on Monday. 

Curran broke two career highs in a non-conference win over SUNY Geneseo on Tuesday. The first career best he broke was his field goals made, hitting five shots with two of them being 3-pointers, resulting in him breaking his career-high scoring of 12 points with his new mark of 14 points. Curran had a career-high in assists as well, helping on five baskets during the win. He finished his week with six points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal at Houghton.

Curran and the Saxons will next travel to Gallatin, TN for the Music City Classic, beginning on Friday, December 29.
