CAMBRIDGE, MA – The Alfred University women's volleyball team will play in its first NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball National Championship Tournament since 1999 as the Saxons (14-13, 5-3 Empire 8) will travel to Massachusetts Institution of Technology on Thursday, November 16 for a 7:00pm match against the hosts in the gymnasium, Rockwell Cage.

Thursday's opening round will feature three matches prior to the Saxons and Engineers (29-4, 9-2 NEWMAC) at 7:00pm. Ticket prices for the event (purchased on-site and cash only) are:

The Saxons ended the regular season as the No. 5 seed going into the Empire 8 Championship Tournament with their only conference losses coming to the three teams they had to defeat to capture the E8 Crown. AU topped No. 4 Nazareth in three sets and then eliminated the No. 1 seed, St. John Fisher University and the No. 3 seed, Keuka College in four sets, defeating the Wolves for the first ever Empire 8 Championship title.
MIT is currently ranked #20 in the nation with new national rankings to be release later today as the Engineers closed out their season by winning the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship with a five-set victory over No. 1 seeded Springfield College.
