GROVE CITY, PA – Multiple members of the Alfred University women's tennis performed well during the Grove City Invitational on Saturday afternoon from the Walters-Zbell Tennis Courts.

Jordan Crouch said. "It's a tall task to play two whole doubles and singles matches each and they all handled it well. There was a lot to learn and I'm excited to keep working towards Brockport on Tuesday."
In doubles,
Macy Youngberg (Falconer, NY/Falconer Central) and
Alina Zabihailo (Kyiv, Ukraine/Educational Complex #143) picked up an 8-1 win against Thiel College during the opening round.
Abigail Call (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) and
Alexis Giordano (Lewiston, NY/Lewiston-Porter) also won the opening round in doubles against Thiel in 8-3 fashion.
Zabihailo continued to shine in singles action, winning 6-4, 6-3 in the opening round. In the Finals, Zabihailo picked up the win for AU in 6-3, 6-4 fashion. Giordano and Youngberg were among the Saxons to also win during the opening round of singles play. During the consolation bracket of singles play, Call grabbed an 8-0 victory.
Alfred University will next travel to face SUNY Brockport on Tuesday with matches scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
