ALFRED, NY – Senior forward of the Alfred University men's basketball team, Brewster Marshall (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) was named one of the two Empire 8 Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Week in an official announcement on Monday by Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Marshall had back-to-back double-doubles on the week including a career-high 31 points in a dominant, home win over Keuka College. In Tuesday's home contest, Marshall was 13-for-19 from the floor, a perfect 2-for-2 from 3-point land and 3-for-4 from the free throw line while adding 12 rebounds (seven defensive), two blocks and one assist. On Wednesday, on the road at Keuka College, Marshall scored 17 points from his 7-for-13 performance from the floor, including 2-for-3 from beyond the 3-point arc and was 1-for-2 from the charity stripe. He added 11 rebounds (seven defensive), one block and one assist. He also cracked the AU Top-25 list in career rebounds and is nearing the Top-25 mark in scoring.
 
Marshall was also named one of the Saxons of the Week alongside Gillian Flint (Caledonia, NY/Caledonia-Mumford) of the AU women's basketball team on Monday. He and the Saxons will next continue their road game streak as they travel to Elmira College on Tuesday, February 8 for a 7:30pm tipoff.
