ALFRED, NY – Alfred University's
Brewster Marshall (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) was named one of the Empire 8 Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Week on Monday afternoon in an official announcement by Associate Commissioner,
Joe Venniro.
Marshall showcased his versatility as the 6'-8" forward was 5-of-7 from 3-point land as he finished with 29 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and three assists in a dominant, 95-70 win over visiting Pitt.-Bradford. All of his stat lines, including eight defensive rebounds were team-highs and game-highs. Marshall was 10-for-16 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line in only 29 minutes of play.
Marshall has compiled a storied career thus far for AU as Monday's announcement is the sixth time he had been on the Empire 8 Weekly Awards and his second Co-Player of the Week. He was named a Player of the Week in November of 2019 and was a three-time Rookie of the Week during the 2018-19 season.
Marshall was also named a Saxon of the Week on Monday, earning his eighth selection to that honor as he was joined by teammate,
Adam Enders (Belfast, NY/Belfast) on Monday as well. The duo and the rest of the Saxon men's basketball team will open Empire 8 action on Friday, December 2 at 7:30pm when they travel to St. John Fisher University.
