"Today was helpful in showing what things we still need to work on moving forward," Graduate Assistant Coach
Danielle Perry said. "We had some chances today but need to capitalize on our opportunities."
The defense for Alfred University stood tall throughout the game, as they successfully defended two corner kicks from the Soaring Eagles within the first five minutes of action.
Sierra Wilson (Lewiston, NY/Lewiston-Porter) was the lone Saxon to record a shot on goal in the first half, as AU entered halftime without a score. Solly put multiple shots on target in the final minutes of the second half but could not find the back of the net before the final horn.
"We need to continue to work on our offensive movement and creating effective runs," Perry said. "We have some tough games coming up and need to be able to score."
Alfred University will next return home to host Keuka College on Wednesday with the first half scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
