ALFRED, NY – The Empire 8 named Casey Grange (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) of the Alfred University women's volleyball team the Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon, after an official announcement from Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Grange broke not one, but two Alfred University school records in one of the school's most impressive come-from-behind wins as the Saxons defeated Elmira College, 3-2 on Wednesday. She broke the single, five-set match record for kills with 29 and the five-set record for points with 30.5 as she added an ace and a block assist. Grange also set a collegiate career-high in hitting percentage, only committing eight errors on her 61 attacks. She had double-digit points in all three Empire 8 matches and double-digit digs in all three. Grange also had positive hitting percentages in all three matches.
 
Grange and the Saxons will next travel to face Hartwick College on Friday at 6:00 PM. On Saturday, AU faces Empire 8 foe, Russell Sage College, in a conference matchup at 12:00 PM.
