HOUGHTON, NY - The Alfred University women's tennis came up short in singles play as part of a 5-4 loss to Houghton University on Saturday afternoon.

Jordan Crouch said. "We have to bounce back this week in practice to get ready for our last two matchups of the regular season next weekend."
Abigail Call (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) and
Alexis Giordano (Lewiston, NY/Lewiston-Porter) were the lone Saxons to score from doubles, winning 8-5 from the No. 3 spot.
Macy Youngberg (Falconer, NY/Falconer Central) picked up a win from No. 4 singles, winning in 6-1, 6-2 fashion. Call played well from No. 5 singles, earning the 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Alina Zabihailo (Kyiv, Ukraine/Educational Complex #143) was the last to record a win from singles for the Saxons to round out the afternoon.
Alfred University will next return home to host Hartwick College on Saturday with matches scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.
