ALFRED, NY -- First-year Kenneth Allison Jr. (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) of the Alfred University men's basketball team was named the Empire 8 Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon after an official announcement by Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.

Allison Jr. set almost all of his collegiate career-highs in a loss to St. John Fisher College. He led the Saxons with 14 points on the night. He also had the team-high in assists with four, made field goals with four and made free throws with a perfect 5-for-5 showing. He was 4-for-7 from the floor, including 1-for-1 from 3-point land. Allison did not commit a foul in his 21 minutes on the court.

Allison was also named a Saxon of the Week alongside women's basketball's Allison O'Toole (Simi Valley, CA/Simi Valley).

He and the Saxons will next host Elmira College on Tuesday evening in the Terry S. Galanis Family Arena at 7:30pm.
