ALFRED, NY- The Alfred University women's tennis team came up short in their matchup against Penn State Behrend by an 8-1 score on Friday afternoon from the William T. Brown Tennis Courts.
The Saxons (0-3, 0-0 Empire 8) picked up their lone point thanks to the singles play of senior
Lauren Boshart (Oswego, NY/Oswego) from the No. 2 spot. Boshart was joined by first-year
Macy Youngberg (Falconer, NY/Falconer Central) in doubles play from the No. 1 spot, as the two were just shy of earning another point for AU.
"We've faced some early challenges this season," Head Coach
Jordan Crouch said. "We have a few players competing in new spots and trying to get used to new things. Tonight, we talked about the points in matches we wish we could have gotten back and how we learn from this. The hope is that moving forward, we're better prepared to execute when we need it most."
Alfred University will face a quick turnaround, hosting Nazareth College on Saturday at 1pm.
