ALFRED, NY – First-year Honor Edmands (Reno, NV/Reno) was tabbed as the Empire 8 Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week on Tuesday in an announcement from Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Edmands established herself as the point-leader for the Saxons as she scored 33.0 points in a 2-1 week. Her points came from 29 kills, four block assists, one solo block and one service ace. She also chipped in six digs on the week. Edmands ended the week with a hitting percentage of .228 as she only had 11 errors on her 79 attack attempts.
 
Edmands and the Saxons will next travel to Nazareth College on Wednesday, March 24 at 7:00pm. Edmands joins the Monday Empire 8 listings of Garrette Briggs (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) being the Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week and Alyssa Piechota (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) being the Women's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week.
