Dustin McCaslin (Ashville, NY/Chautauqua Lake) was named the Empire 8 Football Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday afternoon in an official announcement from Associate Commissioner,
Joe Venniro.

McCaslin scored the game-winning field goal on Saturday, closing out Homecoming Weekend and getting the first E8 win of the season, defeating Hartwick College, 24-21. He finished the night with three field goals and a PAT. His first field goal was his game-high of 35 yards right at the horn before halftime making it a 21-10 deficit to Hartwick.

He then opened up the second half scoring spree of AU with a 24-yard field goal, bringing the score to 21-13. After AU tied the game with a touchdown and a successful 2-point conversion, McCaslin would sound the horns with a 28-yard, game-winning field goal. On kickoffs, McCaslin had five kicks for a total of 284 yards and two touchbacks.

McCaslin was also named one of two Saxons of the Week on Monday, being joined by women's tennis's
Abigail Call (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy).

He and the Saxons will next travel to St. John Fisher College on Saturday, October 16 for a 1:00pm kickoff.
