FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Alfred University men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision on the road to Methodist in its third match of Spring Break, held at the Clayton Tennis Center Wednesday afternoon.
The Saxons drop to 3-4 overall, while Methodist improves to 1-12.
Wes Dennison (Almond, N.Y./Alfred-Almond) earned a game for the Saxons in fifth singles, but fell to Henry Blanco in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. Alfred was swept in its six singles and three doubles matches.
"Today was a great day for tennis," said head coach
Jordan Crouch. "We got to experience some fantastic weather against strong competition from Methodist and our teams were thrilled to have the opportunity to compete. Looking forward to our next match on Friday!"
The Saxons will finish Spring Break against Mary Baldwin in Staunton, Va. Friday at 3 p.m.
