ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's tennis team fell, 2-7 to visiting Brockport on Saturday afternoon on the William T. Brown Tennis Courts.
 
The Saxons (0-2, 0-0 Empire 8) had a strong showing at No. 2 doubles where Lauren Boshart (Oswego, NY/Oswego) and Kailey Reyes (Dallas, TX/Trinity) were down, 3-6 but fought back for the 8-6 win. Boshart also picked up the only win in singles with a 6-2, 6-3 showing at the No. 2 spot.
 
"Just like Oneonta (9-0 loss on Thursday), the score didn't reflect on how hard we played today," Head Coach Jordan Crouch said. "The team played really hard today and we got better so I'm happy with the result."
 
Amber Smith (Prattsburgh, NY/Prattsburgh Central) had a close match at No. 3 singles but fell, 4-6, 3-6.
 
The Saxons will next head to face The University of Pittsburg at Bradford on Saturday, September 7 at 1 p.m.
