ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's tennis team (6-5, Empire 8 3-3) dropped an Empire 8 match 8-1 to the St. John Fisher College Cardinals on Wednesday afternoon on the William T. Brown Tennis Courts.

The Saxons started the day off on the right foot when junior
Reeder Bruffey (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) and sophomore
Adam Shearer (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) won #3 doubles 8-3. However, the Cardinals took the eight remaining matches to take the victory 8-1.

Jordan Crouch said. "It was great for our guys to play a high-level of competition today. I can't wait to get back on the courts tomorrow to prepare for Nazareth on Saturday!"

The Saxons will close out the regular season on Saturday when they travel to Rochester, NY to take on the Golden Flyers of Nazareth College. The winner of the match will earn the fourth spot in the Empire 8 men's tennis championship tournament to take place on May 3-4.
