ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's lacrosse team hosted Houghton College under the lights at Yunevich Stadium on Wednesday evening. The Saxons (1-7, 0-4 Empire 8) fell to the Highlanders by a score of 19-5.
Madison Latranyi (Danville, PA/Danville Area) put on another impressive performance at home as she totaled four goals to lead the Saxons. Latranyi also forced three caused turnovers and finished with eight draw controls.
Taylor Miller (Medina, NY/Medina) also had a productive game for AU with a goal and an assist.
Paige Rowlee (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) played another full game in goal for Alfred and ended with 12 saves and four caused turnovers.
"I think we continue to have some fantastic showings from our first-years," Head Coach
Erin McGaffigan said. "We had some really smart defensive crashes, switches and changes and we continue to be surprised by the growth that we see every game. We continue to move in the right direction and there were a lot of positives that we can walk away with from today."
The Saxons will hit the road for a Saturday afternoon Empire 8 matchup at Elmira College at 1PM.
