CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Alfred University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to SUNY Cortland, held at the Varsity Tennis Courts on a hot Tuesday afternoon.
 
Alfred drops to 2-8 on the season, while Cortland improves to 6-4.
 
At first doubles, the first doubles pair of Tori Pellegrino (Whitesboro, N.Y./Whitesboro) and Kailey Reyes (Dallas, Texas/Trinity) earned six points, dropping to Chloe Knapp and Isabella Arrigo by an 8-6 score. Lauren Boshart (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) also won six games in her match at second singles, a 6-4, 6-2 loss to Arrigo.
 
The Saxons will look to rebound in their next match, wrapping up a four-game road swing at conference foe St. John Fisher College, Saturday at 1 p.m.
