ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Alfred University women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to St. John Fisher College, in Empire 8 action at the Mendon Racquet Club Saturday afternoon.
Alfred's record stands at 2-9 overall (2-3 Empire 8), while Fisher improves to 6-3, remaining undefeated (5-0) in conference action.
Alfred's lone win came in singles play.
Lauren Boshart (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) continued her strong season at No. 2, defeating Fisher's Cassidy Bell by a 6-4. 6-2 score. Boshart improves to 6-3 on the season.
Kailey Reyes (Dallas, Texas/Trinity) took Cydney Bell to three sets at fourth singles, but was unable to hold on in a 7-5, 3-6, 10-5 loss.

Jordan Crouch. Lots of great points from all of the courts. Lauren played perhaps the best match of the season and was able to come out with a fantastic victory!"
Alfred will host Houghton in its final game of the regular season, next Saturday at 1 p.m. The Saxons will honor seniors
Tori Pellegrino (Whitesboro, N.Y./Whitesboro) and
Amber Smith (Prattsburgh, N.Y./Prattsburgh Central) as part of its Senior Day festivities.
