ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's soccer team (0-4, Empire 0-0) fell, 8-1, during the first round of the Bryan Karl '86 Alumni Tournament on Saturday afternoon in Yunevich Stadium.
 
AU allowed three goals during the opening half to the Kean Cougars who were firing on all cylinders. Senior goalkeeper Joe Gonzalez (Marion, NY/Marion) nabbed two saves in the opening half and one in the second half before being relieved by newly added teammate Ethan Zyglocke (Livonia, NY/Livonia). Zyglocke earned one save during his debut over the course of 36 minutes.
 
AU allowed five goals in the second half en route to their fourth loss to open the season.
 
The Saxons will return to the field on Sunday, September 9 to take on Mt. Saint Mary's at 1PM in the Byran Karl '86 Alumni Tournament consolation game.
