ELIZABETHTOWN, PA – The Alfred University women's volleyball team drop two matches on Saturday morning at the Elizabethtown College Invitational.

The Saxons (0-12, 0-0 Empire 8) fell to the hosts in the morning, 3-0 with set scores of 13-25, 12-25 and 16-25. They then loss the later match to Misericordia University, 3-1 with set scores of 22-25, 25-22, 19-25 and 22-25.

Junior
Amber Smith (Penfield, NY/Webster Schroeder) led Alfred University with 31.0 points with a top of 19.0 vs Misericordia. She finished the day with 30 kills and two block assists as well as 23 digs.

Sophomore
Amanda Burns (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) had 39 assists on the day with 27 being recorded in the nightcap. Junior
Sarah Huzyk (North Chili, NY/Churchville-Chili) led the Saxons on defense with 33 digs.

The Saxons will next have a week off until their Empire 8 Crossover on Saturday, September 22 against Stevens Institute of Technology at 11AM and Nazareth College at 4PM. The 22nd is also Homecoming Weekend for Alfred University.
