HOUGHTON, NY – The Alfred University women's lacrosse team fell to host Houghton College, 18-3 Wednesday evening at Burke Field.
 
The Saxons (0-11, 0-5 Empire 8) got all three goals from senior midfielder Miranda Gilbert (Watertown, NY/Watertown) while sophomore Allison Hanvey (Camden, NY/Camden) finished with one assist.
 
Gilbert also led the team in ground balls with eight while causing two turnovers. Hanvey caused one turnover.
 
Senior goalkeeper Shannon Gray (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) went the distance in net, making six saves.
 
The Saxons head back home to face #23 Stevens Institute of Technology this Saturday, April 21, at 11 AM.
