MARCY, NY – The Alfred University women's lacrosse team fell 19-3 to host SUNY Poly Monday afternoon at Wildcat Field.

The Saxons (0-2, 0-0 Empire 8) were led offensively by senior
Miranda Gilbert (Watertown, NY/Watertown) as she scored all three goals. Gilbert also led the team in draw controls with four and ground balls with five.

Alfred had a total of six shots, five of which were on net. Senior
Emily MacWilliams (Geneva, NY/Waterloo) and sophomore
Jenna Cordone (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) each had a shot.

First-year
LeeAnna Bianchi (Hilton, NY/Hilton) led the way on defense as she had four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Sophomore
Allison Hanvey Camden, NY/Camden) and first-year
Sarah Turner (Bentonville, AR) chipped in with two ground balls each.

Senior goaltender
Shannon Gray (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) went the distance in net, making eight saves. Gray also finished with two caused turnovers and one ground ball.

The Saxons are next in action this Wednesday, March 14, for their home-opener against Keuka College at 4PM.
