ONEONTA, NY – The Alfred University women's basketball team closed out its regular season Saturday evening with a loss as they fell 81-48 to host Hartwick Hawks in Empire 8 action.
 
The Saxons were led offensively by sophomore forward Sam Pierre-Louis (Wheatley Heights, NY/Half Hollow Hills West) as she finished with 12 points while junior guard Katlyn Boland (New York, NY/A. Phillip Randolph) added 11 points. First-year guard Amanda Figueroa (Cypress, TX/Rosehill Christian) led the team in rebounds as she grabbed eight boards.
 
The Hawks were led by Carly Johnson as she netted 19 points while Mary Schoenherr added 17 points, respectively.
 
The Saxons close out the 2017-18 season with an overall record of 2-23 while having a 0-16 record in Empire 8 play.
