ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's swimming and diving team topped University of Pittsburgh at Bradford on Friday evening in the Lebohner Pool, 156-78.

The Saxons got things started with a win in the 400 medley relay, powered by the team of
Andy Edmister (Belmont, NY/Genesee Valley Central), Richard Berger (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz), Joseph Lawrence (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) and
Derek Ciraolo (Grand Island, NY/St. Joseph's). The squad finished with a time of 3:39.32. In the next four events, Alfred University would only see second and third place finishes before first-year
Noah Koltenuk (Danville, PA/Danville Area) won the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:22.96, edging out Pitt's
Lucas Cerchiaro who swam a 4:23.06.

Koltenuk would do it again in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:04.69. He was followed by fellow Saxon, Ciraolo who took second with a time of 2:12.90.

Edmister got his first individual win of the day in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:00.50. He picked up the win over the Panthers'
Benjamin Koss who swam a 2:01.93.
Alec Toth (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:05.70 as he established the first win streak in individual events of the evening for the Saxons. First-year
Yunneng Du (Yorktown, VA/Tabb) out-touched the finish over teammate, Berger in the 200 breaststroke. Du swam a 2:19.13 while Berger finished with a 2:19.88 as the duo went one-two over the Pitt-Bradford swimmers.

The Saxons ended things with a win in the 400 freestyle relay led by Koltenuk,
Geno Darin (Boca Raton, FL/Olympic Heights), Du and Toth with a time of 3:24.49.

The Saxons will next head to the University of Rochester for a tri-meet against them and Fredonia on Saturday, November 11 at 1 PM.
