GENESEO, NY – The Alfred University women's soccer fell to No. 8 Geneseo Tuesday afternoon, 3-0.
The Saxons (3-5-3, 0-0-2 Empire 8) knew that this was a tough task at hand and played solid defense for the first 75 minutes of the contest led by seniors
Miranda Gilbert (Watertown, NY/Watertown), Leigha Allen (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) and junior
Erin Siebert (Campbell, NY/ John F. Kennedy).
The Knights (10-0-1) scored all three of their goals over a span of five minutes late into the second half.
Audrey Reid scored the game's first goal at the 76
th minute and again in the 77
th minute.
Leah Greene capped off the scoring in the 81
st minute.
"We held a top ten team in the country scoreless for the first 70-75 minutes," said head coach
Craig Yanni. "The team stuck to the game plan and executed it for a majority of the game."

Sammy Jo Shanahan (Valley Stream, NY/Valley Stream South) made 14 saves of 17 shots faced in the loss. Shanahan is seven saves away from breaking the all-time career saves record set by
