ROCHESTER, NY – The Alfred University men's soccer team fell to host St. John Fisher College Saturday afternoon, 3-1.

The Saxons (4-11-1, 3-3-1 Empire 8) found themselves down early as the Cardinals got on the board in the 13
th minute with
Jeff Meyers scoring the game's first goal. Senior midfielder
Miguel Reyes (Valencia, Venezuela/ La Salle)Â tied the game with a goal in the closing minutes of the half. In the 65
th minute of action,
Justen Polk scored to give Fisher the 2-1 advantage. Minutes later,
Justin Ferron solidified the win off a free kick from 20 yards out.

Fisher held the advantage in shot attempts with 21 (eight on goal) to Alfred's 13 (five on goal). Fisher also held the advantage in corner kicks, 10-5.

Senior goalkeeper
Chris Gutierrez (Holbrook, NY/Sachem East) went the distance in net for the Saxons, making five saves on eight shots faced.
Joe Catalfamo picked up the win for the Cardinals, making four saves on five shots faced.
