ROCHESTER, NY – The Alfred University men's swimming and diving team fell at Nazareth College, 154-89 on Friday evening.
First-year
Noah Koltenuk (Danville, PA/Danville Central) topped the rest of the field in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:16.62. He was almost 15 seconds faster than the entire pool. He also won the 800 free with a 8:57.06. Sophomore
Andy Edmister (Belmont, NY/Genesee Valley Central) also won his event as he swam a 1:00.63 in the 100 backstroke. First-year
Geno Darin (Boca Raton, FL/Olympic Heights) took first in the 200 freestyle with a 2:03.05.
The Saxon 200-meter medley relay team of Edmister,
Richard Berger (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz),
Joseph Lawrence (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) and
Ryan Brown (Olean, NY/Olean) took second with a 1:50.52. Edmister finished second in the 50 free with a 25.23. Lawrence finished second in the 100 butterfly with a 1:00.86. Berger was edged out in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:10.26 as the Naz swimmer took first with a 1:09.53.
The 200-meter freestyle team of
Yunneng Du (Yorktown, VA/Tabb),
Alec Toth (Lockport, NY/Starpoint), Darin and
Derek Ciraolo (Grand Island, NY/St. Joseph's) took second at the end of the day with a 1:42.39.
The Saxons will next host the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford on Friday, November 10 at 5 pm.
