ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's basketball team fell to St. John Fisher College Saturday night by the score of 64-61 as Fisher made the three point attempt with five seconds remaining in regulation.

Both teams got off to a rocky start as it was a low scoring affair in the first half. The Saxons (5-7, 2-1 Empire 8) trailed early before they went on an 8-4 run to tie the game up at 10 with 10:44 remaining in the half. Alfred gained control of the lead after senior forward
Eric Adams (Readington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) hit both of his free throw attempts at the 10:03 mark. The Saxons erased a four point deficit as the half was coming to an end as first-year guard
Liam Ebert (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) and senior guard
Tyler Seelman (Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary) both hit back-to-back three pointers to take the 30-28 lead at the break.

After the break, both teams continued to try and find some sort of rhythm on offense as the game continued to go back and forth. The Cardinals held a seven point lead at the 13:14 mark but Alfred would crawl its way back to tie the game up at 53 after senior guard
Julian Reinhart (Hornell, NY/Hornell) made his layup attempt. With less than 30 seconds remaining in the game, Fisher had a two point lead before
Seelman converted and both of his free throw shots. On the ensuing possession,
Alex Sausville would put Fisher on top for good as he connects from beyond the arc to clinch the game.

Alfred was led by
Seelman as he finished with 20 points and junior forward
Tristin Hook (Red Bank, NJ/Middletown North) added 11 points. St. John Fisher was led by
Jake Haight who finished with 17 points and
Ryan Keegan who chipped in 13 points, respectively.

There were five lead changes throughout the game as well as 16 ties. Alfred held the advantage in fast break points, 4-0, as Fisher held the advantage in bench scoring, 36-25.

th, as they travel to Utica College with tip-off at 5 p.m.
