NORTHAMPTON, MASS. – The Alfred University women's soccer lost against host Smith College by the score of 2-0 Sunday afternoon.
Jackie Foody opened up the scoring for the Pioneers in the 21
st minute when she scored on an unassisted goal. Early in the second half at the 48
th minute Emily Smith put the game out of reach when she netted the goal off the assist from Jordan Isaacs.
The Pioneers had the dominating advantage in shots, 25-5 and also had the edge in corner kicks 6-2.

Sammy Jo Shanahan (Valley Stream, NY / Valley Stream South) went the distance for the Saxons (5-3, 0-0 Empire 8). She made 11 saves during the lost. Camryn Biasin made two saves and earned the win.
The Saxons are in action this Wednesday, September 28, at 4:30 p.m. as they take on host Pitt.-Bradford.
