DELHI, NY – The Alfred University women's volleyball team swept SUNY Delhi on Friday evening at Delaware Academy High School by a score of 3-0.

The Saxons (6-8, 0-0 Empire 8) won with scores of 25-17, 25-15, 26-24. They were led by senior Mary Lou Patnaude (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) with four kills, three aces, one solo block and one assisted for a total of 8.5 points while junior Jacquelynn Hicks (Greenville, NY/Greenville) with seven kills and two block assists for 8.0 points.

First year Amber Smith (Penfield, NY/Webster Schroeder) added seven kills of her own and was one of four Saxons to break double-digits in digs with 12. Senior Valerie Cardillo (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) and junior Heather D'Andrea (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) both had 15 digs to lead the Saxons and sophomore Elisabeth Estep (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) had 13. Cardillo and D'Andrea also had two aces.

Junior Aubrey Totsline (Fairport, NY/Fairport) had 26 set assists to lead the match.

The Saxons will next enter Empire 8 match play on Saturday, September 24 at 11:00 am against Hartwick College and then against Houghton College at 1:30 pm during the Hartwick Empire 8 Crossover.
