ALFRED, NY -- Junior outside lineback A.J. LiCata (Lake View, NY/Frontier) was selected as the Empire 8 Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Saturday afternoon.

LiCata had 15 tackles, including six solo and one for a loss, in the Saxons' 33-17 win at RPI. LiCata had 1.5 sacks for a loss of five yards.

The Saxons will next travel to Buffalo, NY to open Empire 8 play against the Buffalo State Bengals on Saturday, September 17 at noon.
