Fifty-six Saxons, six teams cited by Empire 8 for academic excellence

ALFRED, NY – Fifty-six Alfred University student-athletes were named to the Empire 8 Conference President's List for the Spring 2016 semester, the Empire 8 announced this week. In addition, six AU teams were cited for academic excellence.
 
President's List recipients must earn  a 3.75 grade point average or higher and have participated in athletics at one of the conference's full-time member institutions or affiliate members. In addition, the student-athlete must display positive contact on and off campus and be enrolled full-time at the member institution.
 
The Empire 8 also announced teams that earned All-Academic honors for the Spring 2016 semester. Teams earn All-Academic honors from the conference for having a cumulative team grade point average of at least 3.20. Teams earning All-Academic honors for AU were: volleyball (3.50); equestrian (3.39);  women's tennis (3.38 team GPA); women's swimming and diving (3.34); Alpine skiing (3.33); and men's soccer (3.21).
