Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Alfred women’s soccer falls late to Hartwick College

ONEONTA,NY – The Alfred University women's soccer teams lost to Hartwick College by the score of 1-0 in Empire 8 play Saturday afternoon.
 
Both teams played a hard fought game but Hawks were able to score in regulation to prevent overtime. In the 89th minute, forward Allie Ricci scored the game winning goal off the assist from defender Alexis Epstein.
 
Junior goalie Sammy Jo Shanahan (Valley Stream, NY / Valley Stream South) had another solid game as she made 12 saves in the lost. Her counterpart, Megan McGillycuddy played the full 90 minutes to earn the victory.
 
The Saxons (7-8-1,1-5-1 E8) are on the road this Wednesday, October 26th, as they take on host King's College (Pa.) in nonconference play at 7 p.m.
