ALFRED, NY – Amanda Off (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley), a junior forward on the Alfred University women's basketball team, has earned weekly honors from the Empire 8 Conference.

Off was named Empire 8 Player of the Week, the conference announced today. She was honored for her play in in two games last week at the Juniata College Holiday Tournament, in which she averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Off scored 18 points and added five rebounds in a tournament-opening loss to host Juniata on Wednesday, then netted 26 points while pulling down 15 boards in a consolation win over Penn State-Altoona in Thursday. Off, Alfred's leading scorer and rebounder on the season, shot 48 percent from the floor in the two tournament games.

Alfred (1-8) is in action next on Tuesday, Jan. 5, when the Saxons open Empire 8 Conference play with an 8 p.m. matchup with visiting Utica.
