ELMIRA, NY—The Alfred University women's basketball team fell to the Soaring Eagles of Elmira College 65-53 on the road Thursday evening.
Junior
Amanda Off (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley) scored 26 points, only two points short of her career best, and the second time she has reached 26 points this year. Off also collected nine rebounds for the Saxons.
Sophomores
McKaylee Croll (Perry, NY/Perry) and
Taylor Kelley (Andover, NY/Andover) scored 11 points and 10 points, respectively. Kelley also tore down seven rebounds in the game.
The Soaring Eagles (6-11, E8 3-5) were led by Danielle Cleary with 22 points. Meghan Loya chimed in with 10 rebounds for Elmira.
The Saxons (1-15, E8 0-7) shot 24-of-61 (39.3%) in the matchup while Elmira only drained 22-of-65 (33.8%) of their shots.
AU looks to snap their skid at home on Saturday when they take on Houghton College at 4PM.
