Box Score 2 HOBOKEN, NJ – The Alfred University women's volleyball team fell in two Empire 8 matches on Saturday afternoon to St. John Fisher College and Stevens Institute of Technology in matching, 3-1 matches.
The Saxons (1-14, 0-3 Empire 8) fell to Fisher in their first match of the day 20-25, 20-25, 25-21 and 17-25. They were then topped by the host institution 12-25, 23-25, 25-22 and 17-25.
Mary Lou Patnaude (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) was the point-leader for the Saxons in both matches with 10 points against Stevens and 12 against Fisher. She totaled 20 kills, three service aces, four set assists and 10 digs. Heather D'Andrea (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) added 9.5 points against Stevens off of eight kills and one block assist with one ace and had a similar outing against Fisher with another 9.5 points from six kills, three aces and one assist. She also totaled 23 digs on the day.
Aubrey Totsline (Fairport, NY/Fairport) led the Saxons with 59 set assists.
The Saxons will next host Elmira College on Wednesday, September 6 at 6:00 pm.
