PITTSFORD, NY—Sophomore Lauren Wyant (Jasper, NY/Jasper-Troupsburg) scored for the Alfred Univrfdsity women's soccer team in a 4-1 loss on the road Saturday afternoon.
 
Wyant struck for her second goal of the season in the 75^th minute on a lofted shot over the keeper's head from just outside the eighteen.  Wyant also had a shot on goal in the 23^rd minute, but the ball was turned away.
 
Despite the goal for the Saxons, the Cardinals scored three times in the first half and once in the second to top AU. 
 
Sophomore Sammy Jo Shanahan (Valley Stream, NY/Valley Stream South) played the entire game in goal for the Saxons making 13 saves.
 
The Saxons (1-7-1, E8 0-2-0) look to rebound on Tuesday at home when they take on the SUNY Oswego State Lakers at 7PM.
