OSWEGO, NY – The Alfred University women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match to Oswego State University Friday afternoon, 0-3.
The Saxons (4-25, 0-9 Empire 8) fell by scores of 13-25, 19-25 and 22-25.
Sophomore
Heather D'Andrea (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) led the Saxons with team-highs in kills (9), points (10.0) and tying for the first place spot in digs (16). She added one ace to her nine-kill performance. Freshman
Elisabeth Estep (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) was the other Alfred University volleyballer to get under 16 attacks.
Junior
Mary Lou Patnaude (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) followed up D'Andrea's score with 7.0 points herself from seven kills. She added two set assists and three digs. Sophomore
Jacquelynn Hicks (Greenville, NY/Greenville) had 6.0 points from four kills and two aces.
Senior's
Chelsea Pietrzykowski (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) and
Brianna Dudick (Somers, NY/Somers) were the only Saxons to stop Oswego attacks at the net. Pietrzykowski had one solo block and assisted another one with Dudick.
Sophomore
Aubrey Totsline (Fairport, NY/Fairport) had 21 assists on the evening.
The Saxons will next travel to Utica, NY for the SUNYIT tournament on Saturday, October 31. They will begin their Halloween matches against the hosts at 2:00 pm and then take on New Rochelle at 4:00 pm.
