PITTSFORD, NY -- The Alfred University men's and  swimming and diving team dropped a 136-107 decision to host Nazareth in the Saxons' 2015-16 season opener.
 
Sophomores Alec Toth (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) and Joe Lawrence (Clarence, NY/Clarence Center) and junior Christopher Deaver (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) each won two events to pace AU.
 
Toth won the 200-meter free (2:04.11) and 400-meter free (4:29.01); Lawrence won the 50-meter free (25.62) and 100-meter butterfly (59.52); and Deaver swept the diving events, taking first in 1-meter (249.80) and 3-meter (254.00).
 
AU is in action next on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. at home against RIT.
