ROCHESTER, NY—The Alfred University men's basketball team (10-5, E8 4-3) lost to the St. John Fisher Cardinals (13-2, E8 6-0) Tuesday evening, 77-46 on the road.
 
Fisher came out and grabbed a 21-9 lead midway through the first half.  The Saxons fought back to bring the lead down to 11 points with 7:03 to go, but would going into halftime with a 16-point deficit, 36-20.
 
The second half mirrored the first with the Cardinals scoring 41-26 over the Saxons, resulting in the 77-46 final. Keegan Ryan led Fisher with 17 rebounds and tied for the game-high of 13 points with teammate Optimystik Kinard.
 
Senior forward Dalton Walsh (Stockton, NY/Cassadaga Valley) ended the evening with 11 points and seven rebounds while junior guard Tyler Seelman (Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary) and senior guard Tim Pacheco (Mt. Pocono, PA/Pocono Mountain East) added seven points apiece.
 
AU will next face the Ithaca College Bombers (7-8, E8 4-2) in Empire 8 play on Friday, Jan. 23, in Ithaca, NY.
