Box Score PITTSFORD, NY- The Alfred University women's basketball was swept by Nazareth, 62-55, Tuesday evening on the road.
Nazareth held a 27-23 lead at intermission.
AU opened the second half with back-to-back baskets from junior forward
Lyndsay Drummond (Ogdensburg, NY/Ogdensburg) and junior guard
Harley Cleary (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy), bringing the score to a tie at 27-27. Alfred kept the game within reach until the seven minute mark, when the Golden Flyers began to build a lead that put the game out of reach.
For the game, AU shot 40 percent from the field and 85 percent from the free throw line.
Junior guard
Emiliea Harrison (Conesus, NY/Dansville) shot eight-of-14 from the field, for a team-best 19 points. Cleary scored 12 points and had three assists. Harrison and Drummond (nine points) both pulled down seven and six rebounds.
Alfred (6-18, 1-12 Empire 8) concludes the season at home on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 4 p.m. against Ithaca College.
