Box Score PITTSFORD, NY-  The Alfred University men's basketball team fell to Nazareth, 87-80, Tuesday evening on the road in conference play. This loss drops AU to 17-7 on the season, and 8-5 in the Empire 8.
           
Senior forward Gerald Colas (Houston, TX/Cypress Ridge) hit a layup, bringing the game to 34-33, as time expired in the first half. The Saxons fought back from trailing 10 points to cut the Nazareth lead.
           
Freshman guard Tyler Seelman (Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary) tied the game with 3:06 left in the second half, at 75-75, with back-to-back three-pointers. Nazareth scored a basket the next possession and held the lead for the remainder of the match.
           
Seelman finished with 24 points, shooting six-of-10 beyond the arc. Junior forward Dalton Walsh (Stockton, NY/Cassadaga Valley) earned a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and junior forward Jeremy Johnson (Martinsburg, WV/Martinsburg (Shepherd University)) scored nine points.
           
Alfred wraps up the regular season against Ithaca College on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. AU will clinch a spot in the Empire 8, four-team play-in tournament with a win over Ithaca. The winner of that tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA, Division III tournament.
