Box Score ELMIRA, NY -- The Alfred University women's volleyball team fell, 3-1, at Elmira in an Empire 8 Conference match Wednesday evening.
 
AU (4-18, 0-6 Empire 8) lost the first two sets (25-17, 25-11) before taking the third (25-22). Elmira closed out the match with a 25-14 win in fourth.
 
Freshman Jacquelynn Hicks (Greenville, NY/Greenville) had nine kills and three blocks and freshman Aubrey Totsline (Rochester, NY/Fairport) had 29 assists and a pair of digs to pace the Saxons.
 
Senior Taylor Kiernan (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) added 24 digs; junior Brianna Dudick (Somers, NY/Somers) had eight kills and two blocks; and junior Chelsea Pietrzykowski (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) had seven kills and two blocks.
 
AU is in action next on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Houghton College-hosted tri-match. The Saxons play Allegheny at noon and Houghton at 2 p.m.
