Box Score BROCKPORT, NY-  The Alfred University women's basketball team improved to 4-3 (0-0 Empire 8) with a last-second, 54-53 victory against Brockport State, Friday afternoon on the road. 

The match remained close down to the last second. Brockport only led the Lady Saxons 23-22 at halftime and each team traded baskets throughout the second half. Faith Welch captured a 53-52 lead  for Brockport, with eight seconds remaining in regulation. The following posession junior guard Emilea Harrison (Conesus, NY/Dansville) scored a layup in the paint to give AU the 54-53 edge, and walk-off win. 

Harrison led all scorers with 20 points (six rebounds). Senior forward Sarah Federico (Buffalo, NY/Holy Angels) pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds, and freshman forward Amanda Off (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley) added eight points. 

Alfred returns to action on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 1 p.m. against Cazenovia College.
