Box Score PITTSFORD, NY -- The Alfred University volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to Utica in Friday's Empire 8 Conference Crossover Tournament.

The Saxons (3-22, 0-6 E8) lost by scores of 22-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-20, and 12-15. Senior Paige Jensen (Weiser, ID/Weiser) led AU with 15 kills and 11 digs, while senior Chelsea Hall (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) had 18 kills and nine digs and senior Janelle Gallipeau (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) had 48 assists.

Senior Samantha Wood (Newfield, NY/Newfield) had 10 kills and six blocks; senior Core' Oppliger (Neuchatel, Switzerland) had 10 kills and five blocks; and junior Taylor Kiernan (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) had 15 digs.

AU plays two matches Saturday in the crossover tournament: at 10 a.m. against Ithaca and 12:30 p.m. against Nazareth.
