Box Score 2 OSWEGO, NY- The Alfred University women's volleyball team competed at the Oswego tri-match on the road, Saturday afternoon.
AU fell to Sage College, 3-1, taking the first set with scores of 25-23, 25-20, 25-15, and 25-16.
Seniors
Chelsea Hall (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) (11 digs) and
Paige Jensen (Weiser, ID/Weiser) (8 digs) led the team with 10 and eight kills. Senior
Janelle Gallipeau (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) (34 assists) and junior
Taylor Kiernan (Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) posted team-high 12 digs each. Seniors
Kelsey Brand (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) and
Core' Oppliger (Neuchatel, Switzerland/Lycee Jean-Piaget) both had two blocks.
The Lady Saxons later dropped three sets to Oswego State (25-14, 25-11, 25-18).
Jensen and Oppliger led the team with two blocks. Seniors
Samantha Wood (Newfield, NY/Newfield) and
Kelly Bly (Waterford, NY/Mechanicville) earned three kills apiece.
Alfred (3-21-0, 0-5-0 Empire 8) heads to the Empire 8 tournament on Friday and Saturday, October 25
th and 26
th where they face Utica College, Ithaca College, and Nazareth College.
