ALFRED, NY—Sophomore men’s basketball player Tyler Seelman (Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary) has been named the Alfred University Male Athlete of the Week.
 
Seelman is being honored for his performance against the SUNY Canton Kangaroos in the non-conference matchup this past weekend.  The shooting specialist notched 31 points, eclipsing his career-high mark which he set earlier this season (30 points) against Galluadet University.  That performance helped lead the Saxons to the Gallaudet Holiday Tournament Championship.
 
AU currently sits in third place in the Empire 8 as the regular season comes to a close Saturday Feb. 21 against Elmira College. The Saxons look to keep their five-game win streak going tonight (February 17, 2015) against E8 rival St. John Fisher College.
