Baitey became the 2026 Empire 8 Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Triple Jump Champion on Saturday. This is the second time in a row in his career after taking his sophomore year off of track that he won the title, first in 2024. It was his second time earning a final mark of over 14.00m as he established a new collegiate career record of 14.51m (47’-7.25”) to win the event and get closer to one of the oldest school records in men’s outdoor track & field history. The school record is 14.83m (48’-8”) set in 1976 by Winston Strachtan. Baitey’s previous best mark was 14.05m (46’-1.25”) set at the Geneseo Early Season Invite this year. On Friday, Baitey placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 6.86m (22’-6.25”).
